Lumia 435: My audio jack doesn't work anymore, solutions?

When I plug anything into the audio jack, the phone loudspeaker turns off but there's nothing but silence coming from the earphones or loudspeaker. This started a few days ago for no apparent reason. Anyone have a solution?
