if the entire drive is encrypted, then you'll need either the password or recovery key to access the data. (stored on another device or in your MS account if you did that)

otherwise it's just about as good as gone. Unless you're the NSA or some other big budget entity.

edit: but even if you are, its still no walk-in-the-park
