Windows Central Question

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 to check it out. To be honest I liked it, however for some reason it did not recognise my CD/DVD drive. DVD's would not play and the CD/ DVD and drive did not show up in the MY computer section. I'm not very computer savy but played around with it for a couple of hours/days but after a few days I went back to my good old Windows 7 software on my HP PC. All works fine. Is there any very easy way I could get the new Windows 10 to work as it should? I have not added or changed anything else just upgraded. Some people have suggested that I add code to computer but others have told me that this could be a hack. Surly MS must know about this is a problem and will issues a fix, wont they? Thanks
