Windows Central Question

Lumia 950 comes with plug in the wall charger, and a USB cable. Why will the phone not charge when the USB cable is plugged into a computer. It shows that it is plugged in, but hours later there is still movement on the battery life indicator?

USB on the PC supplies a VERY low amount of power, 5V at .5A

That's for USB2 and the computer needs to be powered on. For USB 3 it's 0.9 A and if it is dedicated as "charging" port the computer does not have to be on.
Anyway your phone should be able to charge on a PC but much slower compared with the wall plug..

correct.... always forget about USB 3 is a "bit" higher, but even then, 2.1A chargers are literally a dime a dozen now. I haven't used USB to charge a phone in years. I use QI or the included 950 charger most of the time.
