Windows Central Question

why isn't my laptop playing my CD?

I've just tried to play a recently purchased CD and nothing has happened. I can go onto the Windows Media Player manually but there's no detection of the CD, however if I go onto 'my computer' is clearly shows that there is a CD in the port and says 'track 1' up until 'track 11'. still, when I try to select and play them in the WMP it doesn't recognise them and continues to play the music I already have on my computer.

I have tried many times to eject and re-insert the CD without any luck.

thanks

Does your CD drive read any other CDs such as a blank disk?

If not try using a CD drive lense cleaner, if that doesn't work then your disk drive is most likely faulty.
