Nokia Lumia Unlocked with Net10?

[Windows Central Question]

I bought a Lumia 640 AT&T GoPhone and also received my unlock code from AT&T. When I removed the sim card from the phone and replaced it with my Net10 sim card from my old phone and powered it up, I never received a request to enter my unlock code. Is that normal? I know that I'm using AT&T based Net 10. The phone makes and receives calls and receives text messages but I cannot send text messages.

Two questions. Is my phone fully unlocked? And what may I have to do to be able to answer and send texts?

Net10 uses AT&T network for certain sims, so its normal that it didn't ask you for unlock code. Also that means its quite possible that its not fully unlocked.

Got it all set up. Took the sim card out and reinserted it and voila! Everything was good to go. I can send a text now and everything!
