Good Morning everybody!
I have a very uncommon bug on my Lumia 930 with W10 Mobile build 10586.71.
When i restart my phone, i always have no notification sound selected for Whatsapp.
I have enable the notification for the app in settings page.
I has the same problem with my old phone, Lumia 920, and i have already tried Soft and Hard reset, uninstall and reinstall the app..
I have no other idea to solve the problem..
Have you picked up the most recent update for WhatsApp? It's supposed to address notification issues.

I have the most recent Whatsapp build, 2.12.276..
The problem is exactly like before..
Then it's most probably an inherent bug with W10M at the moment. As usual, wait for the next update (app and OS) or report in the Windows Feedback app.
I hope this does get sorted. My WhatsApp notification is currently a very annoying and loud one that I set as a joke. Now I can't change it.
I am having exactly the same problem as you buddy.
Very irritating, I set a tone for WhatsApp and considering the frequent idiotic reboots which current WM10 OS does randomly, I need to set the tone on every reboot.
Microsoft, are you listening? Will you polish this OS in eternity?!
The 14283 build fixed the problem.
