Ringtones won't work from sd card on BLU Life One X (2016 model)

I just purchased a BLU Line One X (2016 model) and I have a 64GB sd card installed. I have a folder for ringtones which contains a number of mp3 ringtones that I made. I can play the ringtones but when I select one of them to be the default ringtone I get the default BLU (telephone) ringtone instead. How do I get my personal ringtones to work from my sd card? Thanks.

You will need to post this on the android central forums as the Blue Life One X is an android phone. However, many of our members are well versed in multiple platforms and someone might be able to help. Good luck.
