Restoring from Backup windows phone 10

Hi I've just upgraded my phone and need to restore from backup on the new handset however when setting up the new phone there is no option to restore from backup. I have recently updated my mobile number on my MS account which says will take effect 1st May. will I have to wait until this date in order to restore from backup which will mean I will have to add all my contacts to the new phone manually ?

any help with this would be great many thanks

Just spoke with ms support that confirmed that if you just updated any information on your microsoft account and you got to wait 30days for the change to take effect during this time you cannot restore from back up. Thought I would share this something to bare in mind. Now gotta sit here and manually add all101 contacts to my new phone . Great☹
