A) Ctrl + Shift + Esc > calls up
task manager > click
Startup tab > scroll the list and look for anything marked
Google or Chrome > make sure that entry is
Disabled > click
Processes tab > scroll the list for anything marked
Google or Chrome > use
End Task on any processes found
B) In the
Search Box on taskbar, type in
Programs > click the
Programs & Features result > scroll the list for anything marked
Google or Chrome >
Uninstall any entries found
Prime suspect: Google Updater. This is a background program which, IMHO, operates below many users conscious authorization and wastes valuable resources. It's a tenacious bugger. Exorcise it.
You probably should not need to use Restore on your computer if you follow A & B above. But if issues persist, a reset may be in order.
