Computer doesn't recognise headset (headphones and microphones)

I know that the headset isn't broken because I got it today (brand new) and tested it with my ipad, it worked perfectly on there. The wire from the headphones to the jack splits into two different jacks (one for headphones and one for the microphone), when I plug it into my 3.5mm jack input it doesn't show up on playback devices (even when I select 'show disabled devices'), please help!

Re: Computer doesn't recognise headset (headphones and microphones)

I'm not sure how comfortable or knowledgeable you are with Windows but usually things like this is a driver problem.

Simplest solution is to remove the driver, restart Windows and it should re-install the driver (so long as you're connected to the internet) and things should work fine.

It's always helpful to know what version of Windows you're using as well in case you need step by step help.
