Previous Messenger app can't be uninstalled

Just last week (i think),I upgraded the messenger app which was now compatible for Windows 10. Just yesterday,I saw in my apps list that there are 2 messenger apps. The new one and the previous one which now has no icon, just plain box. I tried to uninstall the old but it won't let me. Has anyone encountered this and do you have any fix on this? Thanks.

try a soft reset and uninstall after the restart
