    Even with the latest I am getting 2-3 hours of battery instead of the promised 18 hrs with very light word processing and Spotify usage on the fhd-matte (not touchscreen or qhd) Dell XpS 13 (brand new)!?! I got the i7 variant and run on power save mode...what on earth is this...have I been duped to spend a fortune on this machine?!

    I highly suspect you just had some bad luck and got a unit with a bad battery. Defects aren't too rare in technology - that's what warranties are for!

    I can understand your frustration! There are so many reasons for short battery life. It could be anything from a process running in the background you might not be aware of, needed updates, or sure, even a bad battery. A place to start would be the store you bought from, if possible, or maybe Dell's support center?

    I have the same problem , brand new dell xps 13 and battery life is 3 hrs max, called dell and they have still no solution, did your problem s=get resolved ?

    is it updated and are you able to see what is using all the battery?
