WindowsCentral.com becoming unusable! Why are your ad scripts running every 5 seconds?

[Windows Central Question]

the entire site is becoming totally unusable due to some of the ad scripts you are running on your site. When i open the Network tab in the Web Developer Console in Chrome you can watch your ad scripts run every couple of seconds. in 10 minutes i have downloaded over 13,924 files and over 100 mb (!?!) have been downloaded just for your stupid ads.

I can't even scroll through an article due to the resources your site is consuming. Please fix this!!

ps. i have checked for rouge extensions and programs that may be loading additional ads or trying to overtake the site. I get the same experience on FF, IE and opera.

I suggest Ad Block + and Ghostery extensions. Particularly Ghostery to turn off all the tracking.
