Windows Central Question

I had upgraded to Windows 10 a year ago. A few months ago my PC broke down, either Motherboard, or CPU, not sure. Maybe both. I am using a friend's parts for now but I'll soon buy new (hopefully). What I need is to help me activate my Windows 10. I do have an MS account but as far as I remember it was not linked to my W10. My PC stopped working before the latest update so I can' t use "troubleshooting" in Settings>Update and Security>Activation. I would also like to know if I will be able to activate my windows again after I repair/replace my CPU and MoBo. Thanks

If you had enabled on your MSA they will re-activate if you phone in and say you had to change your hardware.

If you have a W7/W8 key then apparently that still works to activate W10.
