Is there a disable images option in edge like the way it can be found in UC browser for phone or in firefox for pc but using an extension?

This would really make data usage to be low, especially for mobile devices

Nope. With Windows 10, Microsoft is saying, "We don't care about your bandwidth."

Forced (pointless and sometimes disastrous updates) is #1 proof.

Next, Data Saving mode for IE mobile has been removed and is not coming back.

Also, lack of exension support from mobile means no adblocker. And this means bandwidth waste from ads and vides

Back to your original question about disabling images - don't hold your breath.

    Solutions
    1. Use other (slower) browsers
    2. Turn off data after a page has loaded the words you want to read
    3. Switch your network from 4g or 3g to Edge to reduce bandwidth consumption

I already use UC browser for phone which is faster, not slower. In a typical day of facebook browsing, I would have used 2-3MB only. On the app it would have been 40MB?
My data is always off by default unless I need it
I use that all the time, especially when tethering - a favourite trick I regularly use and I've even been spreading that technique to others

Surprised. I stopped using UC browser when I jumped on Win 10. Time to check it again.

You mean edge would be 40MB?

You already have your solution :)

BTW, edge makes my phone hot. Does that happen to you?

    40MB using facebook app
But yes, edge would most likely consume a lot too
Honestly speaking, I've used edge on mobile only once - to fill in some forms that UC browser couldn't handle
