Downgrade a Lumia 1020 running Windows 10 (10.0.10586.545) to Windows 8.1

Hi All,

Before you ask yes I have tried using Windows Device Recovery Tool but all this seems to do is put my phone into an endless series of restarts and nothing happens (even after leaving it like that for an hour!).

Next I tried the steps listed here: www dot djsmobiles dot com/2012/12/guide-how-to-flash-your-nokia-lumia-920.html, unfortunately I can only seem to be able to get up to the last step where NCS restarts the phone but cannot get it into flashing mode (I have tried multiple times with Power + Volume Up, Power + Volume Down, normal restarts and doing nothing by just letting it keep restarting).

Any idea on how I can downgrade to WP 8.1? 10 sucks on my 1020 (and honestly is somewhat in the same sucky ballpark on my 950XL as well unfortunately).

Hi, have you tried resetting your phones? (Settings > System > About > Reset your phone)
Also do you know what builds you are running on both phones? (Settings > System > About > More info > OS build: 10.0.xxxxx.xxx)
