Windows Central Question

Windows did an upgrade upon shut down two nights ago. Upon using my desktop the next day, the appearance has changed. All screens are now black with white text (Microsoft Office programs (word, excel), pdf files, web pages, etc. How can I return to the original settings with a white background and black text? Please help!
