I installed Metro File Manager on my Lumia with WP8 in order to connect to a network share hosted by my PC for my homegroup so I can access some files on multiple devices.
Now I got my laptop to connect just fine with and without a password on the share, but my phone is another story.
I couldn't find out what the username would be that I was asked to fill in with the share-password enabled so I disabled that. The app is now able to connect to the share and I can see it, but now it's telling me I don't have enough permissions to actually open it in order to access the documents.
The way I see it I've set the share wide open for any device on my network capable, so unless I'm missing something obvious I can't figure out what the problem is.
