Hi No it's not normal for disk usage to be 100%. That's the title of your thread, however your post makes no sense to me. Go into task manager and see whats using all your resources. You could possibly be infected with malware. If you need more help, please join the forum!

Well, if your computer has just started up and it's using a spinning hard drive then it might at 100% for a bit while things start up. Depends on how long, I know my backup laptop's hard drive is pegged to 100% for a couple-few minutes while it gathers itself.

    Also consider defragmenting.

Hi friend! Thanks for helping. Team work is good. I guess I haven't paid that much attention to my resources when booting up. I hardly ever shut my laptop down. I have 5 year old Toshiba laptop. The only time I check disk management is when I notice my PC starting to slow down. I agree Defrag would be a real good thing to check.
I know my CPU and memory spike, but that's a good thing, as long as then don't stay that way. What do you think about running some malware scanners along with defrag? Just thinking out load!! I doubt if the OP responds to our suggestions!
