Help with phone storage on lumia 640 with Windows 10 - Getting 'storage almost full' warning.

[Windows Central Question]

I've moved all the apps I can to SD Card (32gb with plenty of space left)
All photos maps etc also stored there.
In Settings - Storage, System and reserve takes 5.96GB !
Apps and Games - 1.20 GB ( All pre installed windows ones that cant be moved to SD )
Only other App is WhatsAPP, which I've deleted then reinstalled 48mb.

Any ideas what can be done or is it new phone time ?

Have you tried a soft reset? Are any updates pending?

Did you ever find a solution? I'm in the same boat...

I have a Lumia 640 LTE with 8 GB of internal storage. Version 1703 (OS Build 10.0.15063.540) takes 5.15 GB of "System & Reserve" storage space. And under "Apps & Games", it's using 1.95 GB (all are pre-installed Windows apps, plus WhatsApp; and they can't be moved to SD).

I've also:

• cleared my conversation history in Whatsapp (it's using 60.5 MB of space).
• deleted temporary Edge files, history, etc.
• changed my Outlook (mail) settings to only save 7 days worth of email

My internal storage is using 7.17 GB out of 7.28 GB, and I keep getting "low storage space" errors, and uninitiated restarts from time to time.

There are no updates pending either.

Does anyone have any ideas? Perhaps I need to roll back my version?

5 GB for System is way too high. Unfortunately, I have no idea what else you can do. If a soft reset has not changed anything, you might have to do a hard reset.
