Windows Central Question

New to the Windows world. Heard about Windows Hello and want to know more. What is it and how do I use it?

Windows Hello is an alternate bio-metric log in method separate from, but backed up by, a password or PIN.

Methods that can be used include Fingerprint Reader and Retina Scan. Hello methods are available for Phone, Tablet, 2-in-1, Laptop and PC.

It's a great new way to log in to your device. Although, sadly, at least on a mobile, results are hit and miss for whether it recognises your properly or not.

I've never been fussed for it on my 950xl as it always took so long but it's so much faster in the fast ring Insider Updates as they've removed a few animations. Now it's quicker than entering a pin. The only issue I have now stopping me using it all the time is my phone spends most of the day in a windscreen mount in my work van. When I'm driving it's constantly vibrating/bouncing around to get a good look at my eyes plus it's just a bit too far away. Definitely too dangerous to try hold my eyes close to phone at 60mph lol

Fingerprint reader on the Idol 4S seems pretty quick to me. Accurate enough after I trained myself and retrained the reader, I now use the finger tip and not the pad of the finger. Works for me... Everyone has a different style for the FP reader.

Windows Hello is a love/hate for me. 50/50 it works or doesn't. And somebody needs reprimanded from either the Groove Team or the Hello team for this atrocity...
