I have seen posts suggesting people have success connecting external hdd's to their Lumia 950XL's.
However I have an older 1TB Seagate drive which I have tried connecting both via a USB OTG adapter, a powered USB hub and the Microsoft Display Dock. Through either of these ways, the phone shows a message stating that the USB device may not be supported and I should try connecting to a PC. Indeed nothing appears in Files.
I would like to be able to use my phone to backup pictures from a digital camera to an external hdd on an upcoming holiday instead of taking a laptop for the same purpose. I would be happy to buy a new drive but would like to ensure it was compatible. Can anyone advise on which models will work for this purpose?
