my friend mashed my keyboard as a joke and now all my icons say internet shortcut and how much space they take up on my computer. i have no idea how to fix it and i really want to

Do an icon cache rebuild. Use this tutorial :

Use Option One. It's easiest.

You can also fix that by doing a system restore. Pick a date BEFORE your friend messed with your keyboard as the restore point.

I am not sure what do you mean.

Are you saying the icons/shortcuts are too large ?

Assuming that is what you meant ......

Right click at an open spot of your desktop > click View > select Medium or Small.
