Hardware specs are:
MSI H81M-E33 Motherboard
Intel Core i3 4130 - 3.40 GHz, 3 MB Cache
8 GB DDR3 RAM
1 TB Hybrid Hard Drive
Intel H81 Express Chipset
Windows 10 Pro with CU - 64-bit

I have inspected event viewer, and what I found latest was:
DllHost (10412) Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy_NOEDP_LEGACY_IDB: The database page read from the file "C:\Users\Varun Gupta\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\AppData\Indexed DB\IndexedDB.edb" at offset 4947968 (0x00000000004b8000) (database page 150 (0x96)) for 32768 (0x00008000) bytes failed verification due to a persisted lost flush detection timestamp mismatch. The read operation will fail with error -1119 (0xfffffba1).
The flush state on database page 150 (0x96) was 2 while the flush state on flush map page 0 (0x0) was 3.
If this condition persists, restore the database from a previous backup. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

Its hanging OS in general. Its not isolated to specific third party apps, looks like Cortana or some other Windows specific service/app is creating problem.

If I am not wrong, VLK license belong to Current Branch for Business servicing branch.
Which still has AU as latest available update. It will take some time, for MS to release it to CBB, I am not fully aware about the same.
But, yeah I am sure, you will get update sooner or later.
This site tells, which version is latest for your servicing branch:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-info.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

EDIT: Are you an Enterprise edition user? There is Long Term Servicing Branch as well. This gives more detailed view of same. The latest update for LTSB is also mentioned in earlier link.

Hmmm, timestamp error. Maybe setting your time settings either manually or automatically (the opposite of whatever it is now) might help.

Myself I am not enterprise no, pro.

Bit of a technical pickle whatever it is! I have no idea what a flush map even is...

No problem here, it's definitely more stable than before.

I never experienced hanging pre CU and post CU

The Creators Update has a nice feel to it, even though I feel as if I'm constantly being "watched", lol.

Yes, at work it's an Enterprise edition license. No CU update here.
