My Screen Froze Up

[Windows Central Question]

when i log onto my pc no matter what my desktop screen will stop working. nothing shows up on the screen and i can't do anything about it. my friend tried to help but it didnt work. Plz help

Are you able to use the PC at all or is it just frozen for a few seconds or minutes?

It either sounds like a issue where too many programs are trying to run at once (at start up), a dying hard drive or something might be up with the monitor itself.
