Why HTC M8 is not updating while its on slow ring?

[Windows Central Question]

I enrolled my HTC M8 (Win 8.1) to Insider Slow ring about a week ago. It downloaded update from settings, installed and rebooted once but not for the second time (as I saw in tutorials and websites that used Fast ring) to complete the process. Now its not showing any update in settings>Phone Update>check for updates. Will it take long to update?

Hi, what build version are you currently running?
The HTC M8 has been dropped from the Insider programme, so you will not be able to get the latest fast ring builds.

I'm using 8.10.14219.341.
But I don't understand why it downloaded updates and updated once. When I open Windows Insider app it show Ring: Slow.

Hi, thanks joining and welcome to the forums.
If you are still running WP8.1, I would use the upgrade advisor app to install Windows 10 mobile.
Then join the Slow ring to get the Creators update.
Then move to the release preview ring to get the latest cumulative update.
This should take you to build 10.0.15063.297.

Was it cut off recently? The same time as the L930 and 1520?
I though it was, but if it got cut off earlier then the only route to Windows 10 mobile will be the registry hack.

I thought it was axed from the get go, leaving it officially on 8.1 but I could be wrong.
