The updated NVIDIA driver splits the 5K monitor into two overlapping 2K monitors with no configuration option for 5K. Even choosing 4K won't work. Microsoft support confirms the problem.
Fortunately with Windows 10 it was easy to back off the update. I periodically just try the latest driver and it causes the same problems with the anniversary update.
Wondering if this is a problem that is ever going to be fixed or are 5K monitors an abandoned technology except by Apple? For photo and video editing, they are significantly more usable than 4K.
