The article on Surface Pro indicates 8gb model as the i5 you would want, if you are considering the i5 as necessary. I would like to know how true that is for i5 users that do heavy Office work, and perhaps layman's level of photoshop or video editing. I've done all of these with dinosaurs, and got the job done. With a blazer like the Surface Pro i5, is 8gb really essential?
Of course, the reason I'm asking is money - a thousand dollars is already a lot to me, so to increase that cost by a third for something that really isn't necessary for me would be silly. So, have you had experience with the i5 4gb and could you please share? Thank you!

If money is an issue why don't you go for something that'll give you more within that price?

Something as amazing as the surface pro 2017? It's the perfect machine for me, and if the 8gb RAM is really not that necessary, as experienced by real users, then no need to change systems!
