Adding new members to a group fails to work.

Adding new members to a group fails to work. They are added for about 10 seconds and then disappear again. The same happens when I start a new group, members disappear as soon as I have added them. I am using a Lumia 1020 with plenty of spare memory as I removed all photos thinking that lack of memory might have been the problem, but no! Help. I really need this feature.
