CPU is turbo boosting all the time in Balanced mode.

So i got gifted a laptop, that has Core m3 - 7Y30, 8GB ram and 1TB harddisk, its not as good as surface pro but the problem is CPU is Turbo Boosting to 2.5GHz all the time, laptop is in Balanaced mode. This is fanless design and i m worried about frying my CPU. so i m wondering what is the problem.

Get core temp and see why your cpu temps are. core m's have low base speeds. Maybe it's not getting hot?

Do you have any programs that run at startup that you don't need? I'm curious if you have say 20 programs that fire upon boot, the CPU gets taxed, and once you start any other program, the CPU boosts.

I had the same issue, it was running hot and battery was lasting around 6-7 hours.
After major windows 10 update to version 1803, it's fixed now
