I bought a used PSP 3000 from eBay that had some issues, with the intent of repairing it. I replaced the charge port and it turns on now, but the UMD drive wasn’t working at all. I replaced the drive and when I put a UMD in, it operates for a couple seconds but nothing comes up.

    So yeah, I’m stuck.

Is it available to run custom firmware? If so then technically you won't need a UMD drive to play games.
