My wife needs a new laptop. Her Dell inspirion 15 has a failed AC power port and the tech says its a motherboard issue, after he replaced the charging port. My wife's previous Sony Vios failed for the same reason. I'm looking for a laptop with a more robust port. Thanks in advance.

, take a look at the business laptops (Dell Latitude, Thinkpad, HP Elite).
Or perhaps even better: laptops with multiple charging ports (like 2 or 3 usb-c charging ports, than when one breaks you still have another leftover).
Newer Microsoft Surface devices might also be something to look at since they have 1 or 2 usb-c charging ports + Surface magnetic charging port. For example the Surface Laptop 4 can be charged by usb-c too: https://surfacetip.com/how-to-charge...p-4-via-usb-c/
