I bought my Vivotab Smart back in May 2013, so it isn't even 2 months old. I've always had it in a case with a screen protector. I was using it earlier today and everything was just fine. I put it down on a table and left the room. I came back about 10 minutes later and the screen was cracked badly as if someone jumped on it. What is curious is that the plastic screen is separated from the system, as if the screen popped away from the body and caused enough tension to crack the screen. The main series of cracks are on the top left edge of the screen with one giant crack running down to the bottom. I called Asus and they created a RMA and told me to send it in, which I am going to. Then I started researching previous Asus models an this seems to be a common design flaw. The problem is Asus will never believe the story that it cracked by itself, even though it did. I paid $440 for this and am extremely disappointed. I've read threads about people starting a class action lawsuit. I searched the internet for hours looking for replacement touch pads and they are out of stock everywhere........maybe this is a clue? Anybody else have a screen spontaneously crack?
