Looking for some quick advice... I love the idea of the Blu HD phone... low price, US Company etc...... I was about to buy one and a friend gave me a slightly used HTC One M8... Money really isn't a concern, but would I be crazy to buy the Blu when I could get the other one for free????

As a mid-level phone, I don't know if I will be happy with the Blu. HD... I am coming from an Iphone 6+...

    Thoughts???

    Thanks

Try contacting the Tech-Support and/or Customer Service departments of each. Make a decision based on that alone as spec-variations don't matter much these days.

If it suddenly stops working then the CS and/or TS suddenly become totally paramount whether in or out of warranty. My TS email to one of those players took five days to reply. YMMV, but I tossed the phone and bought a Nokia.

If you're receiving the M8 for free from a friend, I think its a no brainer. If price isn't an issue (which you say its not) Id still pick the M8. Faster processor for one thing, and the camera is most likely better (I have no experience with both though).

The Blu products looks nice for the price, but I feel like its a mid range phone and the M8 is high end. It all comes down to what you'll be doing with it though.

    Nothing beats free :)

But if you want to try Windows, people appear to like the Blu HD.

Coming from an iPhone 6+ which is a very expensive ($800+ phone), to feel you're getting the same experience you would need the Lumia 1520. Anything else will feet a little less refined. The Blue HD is more like comparing a Ford Focus to a Mercedes. Both very usable, but not really in the same class.

That is what I am afraid of... I manage the cell-phones for my company and I don't have to pay for them. I will not get rid of the Iphone, but just want to try the Blu... I love the idea behind it....but don't want to waste the company money either

Did I miss something? I didn't see where he said the M8 wasn't windows. If it's Android, forget my posting.

I'd choose blu over the m8. They seem to properly support all their phones and has a much better camera. I don't recommend the m8 personally

Try the HTC and if you don't like it sell it and buy the Blu. You will still have money left over it's a win win situation for you no pun intended!

Choosing between the 2 I would go with the M8. It is a flagship device with great spec's. The Blu is a really good low midrange device though....

I got the BLU today and it seems to be great. The screen is obviously not the quality of the M8 but I love the weight and size of it. I have it on NET10 for $50 per month with 3gb of data and unlimited everything.. It is on the ATT network..and the first few hours, I love it... I will check back in soon

They're in really two different categories but I will say WP runs great even on lower spec'd devices. I don't really game with the Blu but day-to-day stuff it runs great, SD slot, great battery life and camera isn't terrific but does the job for Facebook or 6tag.

I also do not do any serious gaming. This device is more than adequate for 99% of what I use a phone for on a daily basis. The less than $200 unlocked price point and the ability to use different carriers make this a great phone for a person looking to not be locked into a contract or pay a crazy price for the Flagships.

I have this on a pre-paid plan (NET10) and I pay less than $50 per month and I can change whenever I feel.. It is a refreshing feeling that I can change phones and carriers whenever I want without taking out a second mortgage.
