Hello,
I would like to bring my Windows Phone LG-C900B Quantum from Canada to South Korea. However, I have heard many problems regarding the difference in frequency bands between the two countries. So I would like to know if it's possible to use it in Korea or should I just sell here.
Because I'm a super newb at these things I just wanted to confirm with you guys... A quick look on google shows that LG Quantum supports "UMTS/HSDPA Tri-band (850/1900/2100 MHz)." And doing the same for KT Telecom and SK Telecom (Two of South Korea's biggest carriers) reveals that two of their many supported frequency bands are as follows:
KT TELECOM
850Mhz (819~824,864-869) - 10Mhz - 3.9G LTE
2100Mhz (1960~1980,2150~2170) - 40Mhz - 3.5G UMTS/HSPA+
SK TELECOM
850 MHz (829~839,874~884) - 20Mhz - LTE 3.9G Band 5
2100 MHz (1930~1960, 2120~2150) - 60Mhz - UMTS/HSPA 3.5G
So according to this, I should be able to use my phone under either KT or SK without any problems, either under the 2100MHz band or on the LTE 850MHz band and revert to 3G speeds, is that correct?
I tried asking the people working there (KT & SK employees) but either I'm asking the wrong questions or they aren't trained to know these things because they kept directing me to the phone maker (LG).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
