The reason is because they do not want to carry stock in a large number of WP models! The management decided upon "White" and probably will only order Nokia WP in the same color just like Verizon has expand to "white and black" for Nokia WP.
Not only that; but all the U.S. carriers want to differential their WP offering even more while saving money on them. So they find ways to cut their models or limit the features offer but make not too visible to the normal buyers like limiting features: memory, storage, colors, radio frequencies, etc...
