I want to add a second line on my dual sim 950 on Cricket. I don't need any data on this second line, just a phone number for calls/texts. Cricket has a $25 Talk/Text plan with no data, but it says "This plan is not available for smartphone customers".

Does anyone know if this would work as SIM #2 in a smartphone provided SIM #1 does have a data plan? The Cricket rep I chatted with didn't know the answer

Technically from the phone's standpoint it would work... IF the carrier blocks the service because they read the phone as "smart" would be out of anyone's control other than Cricket's.

I suspect that the line would be denied service.

Check H2O, they have a plan that should work as they default data to a charge per use and you would not use any. This would allow the provision on your smart device as H2O covers the contingency that you "might" use data. H2O also uses ATT Towers.

At one time I looked at going Dual SIM and using H2O as the voice SIM. $10 would probably last me the entire 90 days of service before expiring, so $3.33 a month.
