Do you have the Nokia charging stand? I've been trying to find out how good it is (it's pretty pricey - $69). Appreciate the help.

I think it's very good, I have it on my bedside table and sit my phone on it every night. I like it better then the charging pad because it keeps the phone upright so you can still see the time and such when you press the power button. You can even use a Nokia app that comes prebuilt which displays the time and weather dimly on the screen for use as a night clock. I don't use the NFC as I find it pretty useless on WP but I think the fact that it keeps the phone upright is worth it over the pad (which I also own) and is much better than the wired charger. I couldn't go back to wired now and it preserves the state of your USB port.

I really like the wireless capabilities. It's convenient and almost as fast as USB chargers. After use this for a couple of week, I'm convinced that someday will become the main way how we charge the gadget.

Yes it's amazing. I just set my phone down before bed and it charges. Then when I wake up I just pick it up and I'm ready to go :)

My girlfriend always forgets to charge her SIII when she goes to be and is always running on a low batt during the day. I, on the other hand, just set my Lumia 920 down on my bedside table, on my charging mat, and my phone is always charging :) Small difference, but what a difference!

Why doesn't Nokia ship out their phones with the wireless charging backing and all you had to do was purchase the station/pillow for it?

Yes, it really is that awesome! Its one of those things that you don't appreciate until you have it.
Exactly, this first reply in this thread pretty much sums it up. Kind of same thing like you remote keys for car, at first i thought that i could manage without it but today it would feel SO inconvenient, maybe even kind of stupid if had to always use keys like in old days.

I think it's just a pricing strategy. Maybe it thinks that not all lumia buyers value wireless charging that highly so by not making it standard, it probably saves some $$ that can be passed on to the consumer. I believe only the 920 supports wireless charging straight out of the box which makes sense because it's the flagship device.

Its the future of all devices. Imagine sitting down at a cafe and as soon as you put your phone on the table its charging. Everything you do in your life its getting incremental charges. That's why apple changed their plug to get s last drop of cash out of people before all devices go wireless charge. I know its stupid but I early bother plugging in when I go about my day at work, but will put down to charge.

With my new 1020, I just remembered how to use the USB cable. I've been using wireless charging for so long now I almost forgot what a wall charger was.

Yes, it's amazing. I have an upcoming project to take an old hallway table and install the chargers underneath the top and use it that way. As for now, I have a pad on my bed stand table and I use the CR-200 (wireless car charger(which is nothing short of amazing)). I won't go back to the old way. LOVE my 920!

I came from a Palm Pre 3 and really enjoyed the wireless charging. It was convenient to just put it down when I came into my office and seems like I rarely left my office without my phone being totally charged. I do have a question. I have not purchased the charging shell yet, but I'm curious if my 1020 with charging shell would work on my Palm wireless charger? Does it have to be the Nokia charger? Thanks.

I wouldn't call it great, but it's a nice convenience. I love that it was free with my 920, but I wouldn't pay $50 for the charger to get the feature, let alone $50 for the charger AND the price of a charging cover.

Unfortunately the 520 doesn't take Wireless Charging, it would have been awesome if it could, but once i get a 920 or 925 I'll get a Wireless charging plate and case (If i get the 925)

I have to admit that I've been using my plate quite a bit now and find that it is a great convenience to just place my phone on the plate next to my bed at night and let it charge overnight. This is a bit of a u-turn on my previous comments.

Just got a second plate for $25 at ATT, not sure if that promotion is still going.

Plugging in a cable at the end of the day is not a big deal, but just being able to lay the phone down to charge at home and at work is a lot nicer!

That's a very good point as well. Not having to constantly plug and unplug a USB cable will help to preserve the port on the phone.
