Not sure. I have a small apartment so it is hard to test. 20 yards? Not sure.

I got mine recently as well for $150.

It's a good speaker but a little bass heavy.

As for the range, it depends on what's between you and the speaker. If you're in the next room you should be fine, but if there's more than one wall or a hall between you, it would have trouble.
