I sat through several hours of rain at a sporting event last night in the rain last night while wearing my Band. I had it a rain jacket on and the Band was inside of the sleeve, but my arm still got plenty wet. There were no problems from the moisture.

Yes that would be in compliance with IP67 rating that the Band has.

It's ok for it to get damp and wet but just not immersed in water for more than 30 minutes. Preferable not immersed at all.

Understood - just wanted to provide real-life feedback.

Isn't this the title to some Paul McCartney song? Anyway, good to know it survives rain, still waiting for that daring user to wear it in the shower (against MS advice, mind you).

Someone already asked that. Highly not recommended as IP67 rating does not cover that.

IP ratings are tested by a third party, not by the company. You cannot claim an IP rating without it being passed by an approved testing facility.

The Band should be able to hold up to general wear and tear, including being rained on occasionally, splashed or ran under water for a short period of time when washing your hands. That's what IP67 means.

As I said, I understand the rating. I am just providing real-life experience. If you don't find it useful, move on.

I assume when you say "no problems from the moisture", you're indicating the Band didn't short out or stop working due to moisture getting into the electronics?

I ask because I saw this video on Youtube, , and wondered if you tried using the screen like in the video. Also wondered if the screen could simply be wiped off using a dry piece of clothing under a jacket and it would work again immediately.

I was able to swipe, even with it somewhat wet. It was a little harder with both wet hands and a wet screen, but not impossible. Once I wiped off the bigger drops (no dry cloth, just brushed with hand) it worked as normal. Also, no short or turning off when wet. I used it to track election headlines as they came in via email. My glasses didn't perform as well as the Band, lol.
