Calories starts at 450

I just bought the Band 2 and I'm pretty satisfied with it's performance. However I turn off my band at night and this morning I noticed that the calories was at 450 as soon as I turned it on. Someone said that this is normal as it accounts for calories burned while you sleep. Is this true and wouldn't it be different for everyone?

My other concern is that I've read online that some people have experienced a flaw with the band itself cracking and at times the watch falling off. Is this a real concern or are these extreme cases? I still have 2 weeks to return the watch so finding out about flaws like this now would be a deal breaker.

I use up more than 450, sleeping, without the band, so yes it does seem to be different for others. From what I have read, it is based upon your profile, age/weight/height, etc. and, of course, all calorie counts are only estimates.
