Hi all,

I was searching around amazon for a more portable version of a displaydock. At the moment the display dock has to have power running it continuously which is not ideal in the outside setting (This can be rectified with a battery bank/brick).

At the moment im not too sure if these generic ones will work (Some say don't work on phones etc.) and I have no idea if they need constant power to power them on.

I dug up the cheapest one I found (no 1080p) but will probably be the best portable alternative. Post under your other 3rd party hubs/docks that work fine.

Yeah I remember seeing an article of using Continuum and that one works. But strangest thing ever, in the product description it says:

"Note:This is not compatible with 2016 new Macbook 12-inch laptop, cellphone and tablet PC"

But I'm pretty certain it works. I'll pull the trigger and see if it works. Does the Vtin one need power like the MS DisplayDock?
