How do you plan to use Cortana, day to day?

I understand.. eventually the need for Cortana will die out i think, but it's nice to know that MS listened to us :)

I don't think it's a useless feature. I believe that a lot of people will use it. It's just not something I'll use. More features are always a good thing, since users can always decide which features they want to use.

Since this feature is a semi sentient algorithm.
Would Cortana be able to train me to give the correct responses when the wife queries me on subjects I would rather avoid?

I will likely use Cortana to naturally ask and refine my otherwise typed Bing searches and indirectly benefit from the dossier that Cortana will build. I do hope to continually stump her as I use the service as I don't see much use beyond novelty until the next evolutionary stage.

Here was how I used Cortana yesterday:

Wake up at 4am
To Cortana: Remind me to follow-up on the database issue when I get to work
Take shower and get ready for work.
To Cortana: Remind me to stop at Freddy's and pick up some milk and wine.
Arrive at work
Cortana: Reminder: Follow-up on the database issue
To Cortana: Remind me to ask my wife about her client meeting next time I talk to her
To Cortana: Remind me to log into Mumble for guild meeting at 8:30pm tonight
Wife Texts me. Cortana Reminder: Ask your wife about client meeting. (she is ecstatic that I remembered and asked)
On my way home I am near Freddy's: Cortana Reminder: Pick up milk and wine
8:15pm arrives. Cortana Reminder: Log into Mumble for the Guild Meeting at 8:30pm.

I have had days where I use her more and less, but that is what I did yesterday. Kept me out of trouble and reminded me to do things that were important to me. :D

I LOVE CORTANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's awesome. How many times have you used the location based reminders? I tried that on my Moto X with Google Now and the dang thing never worked. I would get home and two hours later it would give me the reminder. I have high hopes for location based reminders.

I'll probably use her for location based and people reminders a lot... And to tell me I'll be late for college unless I get up when I should. I would say I'd use her to remind me to socialise, but I'll just use her instead of socialising!

I'll probably use her all the time, considering she is replacing Bing Search, and I use that on a daily basis. I don't know whether I'd speak to her though, but I'd definitely use her. The fact she gets to know who your friends and family are is really cool I think, and the people and location reminders would definitely come in handy! :D

I user her EVERY DAY for something or another

Mostly to remind me of things when I get to work or home. Remind me to ask someone something next time I talk to them (or txt). Timed reminders to tell me to call people at a certain time and make an appointment, or ask them about something.

Cortana has quite literally changed my life, and for the better! My wife has even noticed in the past few months when I have been using her that I don't forget things as much as I used too and that I have become more dependable in her eyes to get things done!

I think my FAVORITE thing about Cortana is the Natural Language engine in her. I have Home set up as a place in her notebook. The other day, I was brain farting and wanted to get home from a place I GPS'd too so needed help getting out to the freeway.

I hit the button and said "take me home" and what do you know, she brought up the Drive app and navigated me home. The more she is used, the more she will grow and understand natural language even better.

The way I am looking at this is, Cortana is meant to be a personal assistant. Anyone who has ever had one knows that when you have a new personal assistant, they will need to be trained and over time, will get more familiar with you and your routines and habits. Cortana is a new employee. The first while, it took some training and getting used too, but now, she knows me well and I see that as she improves and the technology behind her improves, she will only make life that much better.

It REALLY is worth taking the time to let her get to know you and to have patience in training her.
