Hi friends, has any one started using Cortana with Bluetooth head set? How is she responding to you? And which headset are you using?

    That's an excellent thread idea.

I am also interested in Cortana's Bluetooth headset compatibility.

There are other threads dealing with some of the issues. When I use Cortana in my car, unfortunately she has to deal through the deplorable Ford Sync system which creates a lot of issues. First, in order to work, Cortana has to, in effect, make a call to the Sync system so the normal, almost instantaneous response from Cortana, there is a delay of several seconds before Cortana is actually listening to me.

And the other issues are the Sync mic is awful, muffled and very low volume. And if you are making telephone calls through your car's Sync bluetooth, or listening to music or podcasts, and you have a Sync/Cortana interaction, you sometimes lose the bluetooth connection. Some of this is not specific to Cortana, and arises out of the way WP bluetooth works. I often have to turn the volume up when bluetooth has been activated, as it seems to default to a very low volume setting. You miss calls and don't realize a podcast is actually playing through bluetooth because it is so low.

I use Cortana with a wired headset, confirmed it works with a Motorola Bluetooth headset/headphone and my Pioneer car stereo.

The one thing I find annoying is that it turns the screen on, If I'm just asking to shuffle music, make a call or text it should stay off, when it's in my pocket moving around it causes screen presses.

Works fine with my BT Pioneer Car Stereo and my BT Motorola Stereo headset, she reads my incoming texts and asks if I want to send a reply.

Been using Cortana with my Honda Civic 2012 built in bluetooth system. Works as expected, except when I am about to make a command, I have to wait a few seconds for it to work with my system. Voice to text and making calls works well. The same is true when I am using a bluetooth speaker, expect I find that Cortana's voice is very quiet when using the bluetooth speaker even though the volume is high

    Hi soul347,

Are you able to activate Cortana pressing any steering wheel button? Or dashboard? I mean handsfree. I got a civic 2013 with imidi too.

    Thanks in advance,

    WPit.

I have recently purchased Plantronics M165. The Cortana voice is too low. So SMS reading and all other instructions from her are really hard to understand. Call sound is normal.
    Any suggestions?

After selecting selecting below option in Bluetooth, Cortana voice seems to be better now.
"Use an alternative bluetooth audio connection for speech"

Will update after some days of use.

I specifically have trouble getting her to understand my responses when she notifies me that I got a text (see the other thread about this topic). She understands me ok without Bluetooth (read it or ignore it?) and on other tasks. I use the Motorola Buds and a Jabra Freeway in the car - a long press on either one will bring up voice interaction.

I have noticed a lag between me pushing the button on my headset and when Cortana pops up and listens. Sometimes I accidentally activate the pairing mode since I'm used to a rather quick acknowledgement. I'm using a Jabra mini. When Cortana wakes up and listens, things seem to work just fine. I'll experiment some more.
