Why is my Cortana not listening and saying Sorry, I didn't get that on my Lumia 930?

Cortana not listening and saying "Sorry, I didn't get that" on lumia 930

When I talk to Cortana normally, it doesn't listen and says 'I didn't get that'.But if I shout near the front speaker i.e.upper part, she listens. also in decibel meter, value increases only when sound source is near the upper part.. It is weird since Cortana in my old Lumia 620 works very well. but sound in video is good. I am not sure how well 'Hey Cortana' will work in my device. Anyone had this issue or any workaround for this

It sounds as if your second microphone isn't working.

Possibly hardware or due to being connected to a Bluetooth mic and it not 'releasing' it back to the phone mic.

I noticed another thing, If videos are taken in Microsoft camera, sound is missing. but using Lumia camera records sound.
There is less possibility of a mic failure as mine is only 20 days old.
For BT problem, if I shout at the upper part of phone Cortana recognizes. So, chances are less for BT not releasing mic.

It's that the BT messes the 2nd MIC, the normal one works OK.

I'm waiting for Denim to see if a firmware change fixes it, if not it's going back to be repaired.

I have the same issue with my 810. And its typically when or after I connect to Bluetooth in my car.

Soft reset works when this happens to me.

Wish mine would, not even a hard reset with a different ROM did it for me

I gave my phone to nokia care for repair and it has been 25 days and still it is not returned to me. Hope the problem gets repaired. How about yours? Fixed after denim?
