It's been like this for as long as I could remember on w10 on my 640. I thought this was how it was.

However I stumbled across some windows 10 videos only to realise that their Cortana was picking up the entire screen where as mine is just like in the center

Am I alone on this? Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

It looks just like that on my 830 running wm10 .. .218 release, except my screen doesn't have the music notes in upper right corner o_O

The notes gets added in Redstone.

As for Cortana herself, I'm not sure how to make it full screen, it's been the way your picture has it for both my Lumia 920 and 950 XL.

It depends on the display size you set in the settings (I know, it's ****ty. Settings -> system -> display)

On my little 650 it is full screened, on my 950XL... 1/3 of the screen wasted with black lines

Ah . You're right. If I set my display size to the recommended 200%, it fits fine. Change it to 175 and It does not scale properly.

Interesting. Thank you.

You can see the Music Notes icon on any build of Windows 10 (Mobile and PC) by putting Cortana in listening mode.
