Turn Cortana Off

Today, I turned on Cortana for my laptop (running Windows 10 Anniversary Update). I tried out Hey, Cortana and Cortana on the lockscreen and other stuff. All this this went flawlessly.

Then I tried to turn it off, but couldn't find the option to do so. I've attached a screenshot of the settings pane where there should be a toggle to turn it off (but isn't). I've also disabled 'Get to know me' under 'Speech, inking & typing' to no avail.



Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? Thanks.

have you seen settings for notebook anywhere? i think the option to switch off is there

I've signed out of Cortana, so the Notebooks are unavailable. There is still no option to turn Cortana off. I remember it was in settings earlier. Now it has vanished.

Thanks! I should have realised that the toggle had been intentionally removed. I just assumed there was a bug/glitch. The registry hack looks simple enough. I'll try it out.
