Anyone here who had their Glas thermostat working with Cortana found out this week that she was removed. Undertand why, but I also had her enabled with Alexa through our Dot. But Alexa didn't work either.

I attempted to use the Alexa app but the Glas thermostat entry said 'server unreachable'. No amount of tweaking could make it work. I could control the thermostat through the Glas app, but that's it. But to be controlled by voice, I still needed to access it from other devices. After trying several things, here's how I got it to work.

Edit: you probably can skip to step 6 first and step 9 will find the smart skill.

Tried to 'discover device'. Failed multiple timesevice from the Alexia app device listing.

Tried to add device but Glas is not listed under thermostats.

Tried to 'discover device'. Failed mulitple times

    Reset Glas thermostat.

Ensure the thermostat was still connected to my WiFi.

    Retried Alexa detection. No luck

Went to Smart Skills in the Alexa app.

    Searched for Glas. Not found.

Searched for THERMOSTAT. Found Glas skill way down in the loooonnnng list of thermostats.

When I click on it, it was shown as Enabled.

    Disabled the old skill.

Enabled the skill. Relogged into Johnson Glas with the same username password as before.

Tried device discovery on Alexa app. Not found.

About 2 minutes later, a message just appeared. 'New Device found'.
