has anyone heard or know of any fixes for the camera function, it takes really bad pictures!

welcome to the reality of life with a DVP... :(

the camera did get somewhat better after the Mango update but still, even at it's best this is a remarkably crappy camera for such a nice phone.

My photo settings are below. The pictures actually come out decent, especially with the help of the mango auto fix feature.

Photo Resolution
5MP(2592 x 1944)

ISO Gain
Auto/HJR

White Balance
Auto

Scene Mode
Sports

Metering Mode
Center Weighted

Exposure Compensation
+0.7

Anti Banding
Off

Hope these work for ya. Good luck.

Can anyone post a few pics, or link to some that they've posted elsewhere with these settings? I love the DVP but the photo quality was so bad I couldn't stand it. I'm wondering how much better it is now than when the DVP first came out, and it was almost impossible to get a picture that was actually in focus?

As per raremage's request. Two pictures, one taken at default settings, the other at the settings recommended by vtective. (I think there may be a little dirt on the lens).
Chose a bunch of small subjects with a lot of different colours, taken under indoor lighting. Flash on auto but didn't fire either time...

Default (5Mp 2592x1944, ISO gain: Auto/HJR, White Balance: Auto, Scene Mode: Off, Metering Mode: Frame Average, Exposure Compensation: 0.0, Anti Banding: Off).
The picture's quite dark but the colours are pretty true to what they are...

With the settings adjusted as per vtective's recommendations, the picture's a lot lighter but the brighter colours have "blown out" a bit (though oddly, the Rubik's cube is correct here, blue/yellow/orange)...

For reference, here's what the Titan sees...

If you want, I could take a couple of pictures outside in natural daylight?
